Pay It Forward!

Paying it foward

Random acts of kindness have turned into little gifts for you. A great opportunity to get something handmade just for you and pay it forward. I would especially like the opportunity to create for people I’ve never met (but I’ll make stuff for the people I love too!!)

The first five (5) people to respond to this post will get something made by me.
This offer does have some restrictions and limitations so please read carefully:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make. Whatcha get is whatcha get.

2. What I create will be just for you, with love.

3. It’ll be done this year (2009).

4. I will not give you any clue what it’s going to be. It will be something made in the real world and not something cyber. It may be weird or beautiful. Or it may be monstrous and annoying. Heck, I might bake something for you and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that’s for sure!

5. I reserve the right to do something strange.

6. In return, all you need to do is post this text on your blog and make 5 things for the first 5 to respond to blog.

7. Send your mailing address – after I contact you.

Lindsey’s first…

…trip to the hospital was yesterday.  She fell off of a couch yesterday morning and broke her leg!  Poor girl, she was so miserable.  I didn’t even know she was injured…just thought she was scared…but she was crying throughout the day, so I finally got her to the doctor…then to xrays…then to the ER to get it in a temporary cast.  She’ll get a real cast on Thursday.  The break is right above her knee on the left leg.  Her cast goes from her toes to the top of her leg.  Actually she is lucky, because if the break had been a just a hair higher up on her leg, she would have had a cast from the bottom of both legs up to her chest!!!!!  She is feeling much better today…but mad that she can’t crawl around like usual.  So yea, yesterday was quite exciting.  I’ll try and get some pics up soon of the girls.  Catherine just had her 3rd birthday and Lindsey’s first birthday is coming up soon, so we have been busy around here!

Catherine…the olympic ice skater!

skate11I know I said in the earlier post that Catherine is all about ice skating.  It is truly funny.  When I turn the radio on at home, she “ice skates” around the room.  She knows how to jump, do a spin and a spiral on the kitchen floor.  At the rink, she can skate all by herself…and she is the youngest skater there!  Every time we leave the house, she wants to know if we are going skating.  I frequently hear crashes coming from her room during naptime because she is jumping and falling down “on the ice”.  The most exciting thing is that her ice skating debut was in our rink’s Christmas show.  At the last minute, they needed someone to be baby Jesus, because the girl who was doing it wasn’t there, and Catherine volunteered.  It was her first time EVER on skates, and she was perfect and she had a blast!  Ever since then, it is almost impossible to get her off the ice.  I’ll be interested to see where she will be in the next year or two.  She is a natural!

Snow!

We got 9 glorious inches of snow on Monday.  It was the most I have ever seen in Lynchburg and obviously it was a pretty big deal to Catherine (and Lindsey).  I took them for a sled ride when there was only about 1 inch, and then once it had all fallen, we out to play, but Catherine had a hard time even walking in it and every time I put Lindsey down, she gave me a very odd look.  It may have been because she couldn’t move in her snowsuit.  In fact, I dressed her first and laid her on the kitchen floor while I dress Catherine, and Lindsey just laid on her back like a turtle who couldn’t roll back over, and stared up at the ceiling.  She really is the most patient baby.

Yea…it’s been a while!

sisterloveOk, sorry sorry!  I know I haven’t updated in forever.  We are all still doing well here!  But Catherine and Lindsey take up quite a bit of my time and energy.  Catherine is 2 1/2 going on 3 and Lindsey is 9 months…she’s not going to be a baby much longer.  But they are the light of my life and knowing that I am going to wake up every morning to spend the day with them is one of the greatest joys.  Lindsey is finally sleeping through the night (after 8 grueling months) and she is sort of crawling…well, she knows how to get to where she wants to go, haha.  Catherine talks up a storm and she is taking ice skating lessons!  Ice skating is her whole life now and it is pretty much all she talks about.  Well, she talks about food a lot too.  She takes after her mommy I guess.  Today we picked up our Friday morning baby sitter, and Catherine proceeded to tell her about ALL the meals she had eaten since she last saw her a week ago.  Yep.  She even listed them all in order.  I’m not sure if I should be proud of her memory or horrifed of her food fixation.  Well, I promise I will try harder to keep you all updated on here.

Taking a quilting class!

I am taking a machine piecing class and the end result will be a quilt top! I am having so much fun with it and I am afraid I have found a new addiction. These are the fabrics I picked out…

Here are my first four squares…

And the next square that I have cut out and ready to go…

The class is 7 weeks long and I’ve been to two weeks so far. I can’t wait to see the finished project!

Recent crafts

I made these matching outfits for the girls when they got their pictures taken. It is the first matching outfits that I have made for them and I hope to make many more!

I appliqued this for a friend’s daughter. I am loving applique. It is so easy to make coordinating outfits by making a skirt and then an appliqued shirt.

And yes, I still make jewelry!

A few more pictures from the past month or so…

Mommy and her girlies

I just LOVE my two little girls. I seriously couldn’t ask for anything better. They are so sweet and they already seem to love each other. Catherine plays with Lindsey and brings her toys and reads books to her. Whenever Lindsey looks at Catherine she just smiles and smiles. I am so excited to watch them grow up together!

Catching up!

Eeeeek! It has been forever since I posted! So I’ll catch up quickly with a few pictures.

Here is Lindsey looking all cute and fuzzy in her carseat. She is the happiest baby!! All you have to do is look at her and she starts smiling, laughing and babbling.

Here is Lindsey asleep on the couch with her lovey. She loves to play with the little tags on it.

Grandpa! We are going to send Catherine priority mail to you! I asked at the post office and they said Massachusetts wasn’t too far to send a 2 year old by mail.

Lindsey has the sweetest blue eyes! She just started playing in her exersaucer and she really likes it. It is a nice change from laying on her back. She does roll to her tummy now, but she doesn’t like to stay there for too long.
